Sound Pioneers (2021)

I was selected to participate in Yorkshire Sound Women Network's Sound Pioneers residency: six selected composers who created original multi-channel audio works during paid residencies at the University of Huddersfield and the University of Hull this summer. Sound Pioneers is delivered by Yorkshire Sound Women Network (YSWN), working in partnership with the University of Huddersfield, the University of Hull, hcmf// and Brighter Sound's Both Sides Now programme. It is supported by the PRS Foundation's Open Fund for Organisations.

CFCCA Library & Archive Residency (2020)

During this residency at the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, I created a digital artwork that brings to life the local histories and lived experiences within CFCCA's archive. A Meeting Place | 会议地点 is a sound art project based on oral histories from the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art's archive, in which interviewees talk of their migrant experience, their identities as people of Chinese heritage living in the UK, memories of Manchester’s Chinatown and Chinese festivals, and CFCCA's first venue on Charlotte Street. This work sonically animates the content of the archive, bringing to life the hidden histories and images within and inviting new audiences and communities to engage with these stories.

Electric Storm (2020)

On this residency, myself and 13 other music creators, sound designers, digital artists and visual artists from around the North West worked together to create a bold new audio visual work inspired by electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire and the 1969 album ‘An Electric Storm’ by White Noise, of which Delia was a key member. This residency was run by Delia Derbyshire DayBishiCaro C and Andrea Pazos at Spirit Studios.

City Sound Walks (2018)

As part of the Manchester Science Festival 2018, Vicky and David of the Noise Orchestra ran a 6 week residency teaching a group of 15 sound artists and musicians how to solder and make basic synthesisers from scratch. The climax of the project saw us lead public sound walks around Castlefield with our own light dependant synthesisers.

Both Sides Now (2018)

Residency with Fatima Al Quadiri, alongside seven other emerging artists at the People's History Museum. During the residency we created new music and art, taking inspiration from the People’s History Museum’s new exhibition Represent! Voices 100 Years On, with a focus on femme-ism and resisting through the body.
