About the Event

Seed Studios present a workshop with Hayley Suviste and Luke Dobbin, two of our commissioned artists for our Arts Council-supported 'found around' project.

These two unique artists will be joining us to walk us through their compositions for the 'found around' project, discussing their approach and techniques to translating our Seed Studio's community's sounds into two distinct pieces. With a show and tell element as well as the opportunity for a Q&A, this workshop is set to be an engaging glimpse into the products of our 'found around' project.

Hayley Suviste is a sound artist and composer with a unique sound art practice through which her intimate sonic explorations of voice and space explore topics of community and heritage. Hayley has worked with organisations such as Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Yorkshire Sound Women Network, Olympias Music Foundation and Delia Derbyshire Day on a variety of commissions and residencies. More recently through lockdown, Hayley has taken on a remote working residency with the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art.

Luke Dobbin is an Irish sound artist from Omagh, NI. His work is based on finding new techniques and interactions between different forms of processes, both digital and analog, and how these relate to current sound-based technologies, with a particular focus on modular synthesis. Luke has been a participant in the PUSH:Music residency ran by Modul Projects & Brighter Sound and is an alumni of NOVARS Research Centre, University of Manchester.

Seed Studios Online Workshop Series is supported by Arts Council England’s Emergency response fund.
