AURA MACHINE – VICKY CLARKE + HAYLEY SUVISTE @ IKLECTIK

AURA MACHINE, a material experiment with neural synthesis. A sound object has an aura. Part of her machine learning and musique concrete NOVARS residency, Vicky Clarke’s piece takes the listener through the process of training a neural network, beginning with a concrete training dataset of mills, materials and machinery recordings through transmutation to a state of AI generated output. Can a machine produce an aura? The piece will be performed alongside tracks from her forthcoming album.

Hayley Suviste will perform a brand-new soundscape work, bringing her fixed media practice into the live realm. The performance will be a sonic exploration of space and texture, weaving together live clarinet, field recordings, and analogue landscapes. The event will start with a talk held by Vicky Clarke presenting AURA MACHINE, and will be followed by live performances by Vicky Clarke and Hayley Suviste.
